Church of St Vitus

Kostel SV. Vita (The Church of St.Vitus). This church looks very much like Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and even has a wooden spire (where the fire started at Notre Dame). There was a long queue for tickets and to get into the church so I decided to blend in with one of the tour groups and found that without a ticket one could enter the nave of the church and view the spectacular stained windows. That was enough for me. Construction of the church began in 1340. It sports three naves with a five-sided presbytery, along with multiple-story sacristies, the Chapel of Resurrection and the Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk. There is a statue of piety from 1350, two organs and tombs of the local aristocracy.
