Political developments this coming week

I will be arriving in the UK on Friday October 18th. This day the European Union will decide whether the British Government (Prime Minister Boris Johnson) will have developed an acceptable plan to leave the European Union. Alternately they will give the UK another three months to come up with a better plan. If that occurs it seems there may be a general election (Democratic vote for elected officials to make decisions) and perhaps even another referendum (populist vote - that may or not be binding on the elected government to implement). The next day Saturday 19th the British Parliament may meet to decide whether to accept a deal with the European Union if something has been agreed. Meanwhile here in Canada there will be a General Federal election on Monday 21st (I voted in advanced pole) to see what will be our new Government (the existing Liberals and Justin Trudeau with a majority or with a minority supported by it seems the NDP or perhaps even a Conservative government, with Andrew Scheer the Prime Minister). It is all just entertainment really because all we as individuals get is one vote for a candidate in our riding. I will be watching on the new CBC GEM app that enables one to watch the CBC through the internet.
